On Tuesday, Pinkton students took the Atlas Writing Assessment. All students who were present, on time, and gave their best efforts during the test were entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card. II. Hangar NE - General Aviation Careers: Kevin Crawford, Certified Flight Instructor; Madelyn Smith, Commercial Pilot; Dr. Steve Johnson, Drone Operations. Career type examples are: maintenance technician, airframe and engine mechanic, avionics/electronics technician, FAA operations, aircraft design, manufacture, engineering and all type of civil business flying, agricultural, government test, private charter, freight, fire fighting, law enforcement, corporate, survey/flight check, test pilot and many others.
III. Conference Room: Military aviation options: Lt. Col. Gary Smith, Civil Air Patrol: Career type examples: All types of aviation support from air traffic control, weathermen, dispatchers, aircraft mechanics, load masters, freight handlers, avionics technicians, and hundreds of various pilot types fixed and rotary wing.
IV. Lobby area: Airport Operations and U.S. Airspace: Trey Haney (manager, Bayird Air), Emmalyn Stephens (Intern, Airport Manager): Aviation operations support: aircraft handling, fueling, pre-flight servicing, baggage handling, catering, flight planning, logistics, air traffic control, airline operations and many more aviation transport related careers.
We can be proud to have hosted every one of them. We know that the impact of the visit today will not be shown until well into the future. But we also know that it will happen - and will be a positive factor in their life, whether or not they choose an aviation pathway.
