Our 7th grade students had a presentation about flag etiquette from some of our high school’s NJROTC cadets. Students learned how to respectfully interact with our country’s flag, the meaning of the 13 folds, how to carry a folded flag, and some students even got to practice folding the flag. They also learned about the NJROTC program. Thank you so much to these cadets and LCDR Allen Hale, US Navy (Ret).

One thing is for certain, if you're in a FACS class or a WIN class with Mrs. Tara Camp, you're going to learn to repurpose things! This week her WIN (What I Need enrichment time at Pinkston) group made dog toys for the Humane Society using old t-shirts. We love this creativity and kindness!

We are heartbroken to learn about the tragic passing of several members of a local family — one who was a precious elementary school student at MHPS. We do not have any details related to the matter, but we are holding this family close to our hearts as they navigate the unthinkable. We have visited with all the families of this child’s classmates and will have lots of counseling support on campus tomorrow. There is no good way to navigate such a sad situation, but our counseling staff and our faculty are all committed to helping our kids.
