Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! We are so grateful for our drivers. They are integral to the success of this district and our students. They get to know and love our kids in a very special way, and their dedication to student safety and learning is invaluable.

Mountain Home Junior High is proud to recognize Ellie Miller as a National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award recipient. As this recipient, Ellie received a $500 scholarship for college.

Last week students from Ms. Bennett's third grade class enjoyed watching caterpillars turn into butterflies. On April 17, they released the butterflies. The excitement on their faces was priceless. This was an amazing experience for Ms. Bennett's students.

A fire alarm went off at MHHS, and students evacuated as normal. While no fire has been identified, the MHFD is on the scene to clear the building as a precautionary measure before we let students return to class.
Last week Ms. Ellis's students from Pinkston taught a math activity to some pre-K students! The littles loved learning from their big neighbors!

The Civil Air Patrol donated a weather machine to Ms. Davis's robotics class and our 6th grade science students were able to test it out with their weather unit in WIN!
Teagan Beckman was the MHHS 24 Minute Reading Challenge Winner for the week of April 15th and chose a Sonic gift card.
Ella Belt was the MHHS 24 Minute Reading Challenge Winner for the week of April 8th and chose a Bomb Nutrition Gift Certificate.

Congratulations to Giselle Salas-Flores, the winner for the First Security Bank Leadership Award in March! She was chosen as the winner this month for helping a new student that had recently started school here. She went out of her way to make sure the young lady felt comfortable. We're so proud of her!

Congratulations to Rylee Domerese and Cheyla Leaming, two of our MHHS Students, who attended the Arkansas Educators Rising State Convention in Hot Springs on Friday. Rylee and Cheyla placed 2nd in the “Inside Our Schools” Competition and Cheyla placed 3rd in the Job Interview Competition. They received an invitation to attend the National Educators Rising Conference in Washington DC this summer! Go Future Teachers! We are so proud of you!
