Presenting our Kitchen Of The Month: Mountain Home Junior High This team of BOMB cooks was pulled together over the summer and at the beginning of the year. They have shown marked growth in numbers served daily as well as a shrinkage in cost of goods. They were our first kitchen to introduce self-serve for our students and have consistently topped daily A'la Carte sales. If you ever visit this kitchen, you will find the epitome of a team/family atmosphere. They genuinely care about serving our Bombers the best cooked and best tasting food while staying within stringent government regulations. Mr. Merry, our food service supervisor, noted a quote from one of the teachers at MHJH to describe what they do daily: "the food here is like what I would make at home, but I'm getting to enjoy it at school." Great job, JH kitchen!

Pinkston Parents, On Friday afternoon our administration and law enforcement handled a disciplinary situation that involved a report of a student making a threat of violence. We conducted a threat assessment and have handled the situation according to district policy and in conjunction with local law enforcement. While we cannot release details about any student disciplinary action, please know that this situation has been managed appropriately and no real threat to safety existed in this situation. I want to take this opportunity to ask that you all have conversations at home about how a flippant comment related to violence can have life-altering impacts. When it comes to threats of violence, everything has to be considered as real and imminent until it is proven otherwise. An empty and baseless threat of violence still has very real consequences – for students and their families – both on the school disciplinary level and on a legal level. Additionally I encourage you to talk with your children about the importance of continuing to report real or perceived threats so that they can be addressed. Thank you for your cooperation and support in this regard. Each of these situations is incredibly nuanced, but the bottom line is that we take any threat seriously and we will continue to put student safety and well-being first. Allyson Dewey Superintendent
