In Mrs. Camp's WIN extension, students are again repurposing t-shirts. These rugs can be used in dog kennels or as rugs. These will be donated to local dog rescues. The students are doing a great job!

The First Security Bank Leadership Award for September goes to freshman Teigen Garcia. He was nominated by three different teachers for being responsible in school, having a great attitude, and being helpful to all classmates in need. In addition to being a wonderful student, it is said that he has a cheerful disposition and is always pleasant to be around. Congratulations, Teigen!

In honor of Principal Appreciation Month (October), we want to highlight the Mountain Home Kindergarten Principal, Mr. Kevin Roach. Some of you might remember him as "Coach Roach." For years he worked with junior high and high school students before becoming assistant principal at Hackler Intermediate School. Eventually Mr. Roach was named MHK principal, and we saw a seasoned football coach become a soft-spoken, caring, supportive principal and friend to our youngest Bombers! Here he is doing the thing he does each day -- helping his Kinders get out of the car and into the building safely! We're so proud to have Mr. Roach leading MHK, and we appreciate his consistent, calming demeanor.

A spiffing tale of daring heroes and dastardly villains awaits!

Mr. Dustin Rose is the principal at GBCCA, oversees our transportation department, and also handles a number of other student service-related items, but you might not know that he was once a skilled high school mathematics teacher! He enjoys working one-on-one with kids, and he gets to do that from time to time when students need a little extra support in math. Here's Mr. Rose last week helping a student work out a new math concept!

The AT&T issue has now been cleared up, and our test calls show that you'll now be able to get through to us on a AT&T mobile line! Great news!
Parents and families, we've been notified that customers trying to call the district using AT&T mobile phones are unable to get through. We've talked to our provider, and the issue is on AT&T's end, so unfortunately there is nothing we can do to fix this. If you're an AT&T customer, please consider contacting your carrier to report the issue. In the meantime, if you need to call us, please use a landline or a mobile phone from another carrier. We're sorry for the inconvenience!
Mrs. Camp's WIN extension class has been working on different ways to reuse t-shirts to keep them out of landfills; however, they still want these items to be useful to our communities.
A couple of weeks ago, some students were working on making dog toys. This week some of those dog toys are going to be used in an EAST project at the Mountain Home dog park. We are so glad they can utilize them. Some other dog toys will be donated to various dog outreach programs around our area.
