Here's the First Security Leadership award winner for September: 9th grader Russell Hargett. He was chosen by his teachers for leadership qualities demonstrated, including positive attitude, great communication, and follow-through with doing what he says he will do.

MHPS will release school at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 19 due to Parent-Teacher Conferences. There will be no school on Friday, October 20.

In September, Mrs.Kohler’s and Mrs. Thompson’s classes were honored to have veterinarian and parent Heather Hilvert come talk to our classes about several rescued baby animals and swallowtail caterpillars. She discussed life cycles, animal group behavior, and traits that help the animals survive in their environment. So thankful to have a community partner making our science lesson relevant and providing real life examples for our 3rd grade students!

6th grade art student Hayden VanderStek designed this year's Run With The Bulls t-shirt in Mrs. Posey's art class! Hayden is seen here with Coach Roddy Patrick and Mrs. Libby Posey. Great work, Hayden! The MH Cross Country Team wants to thank all the art students who participated in this design tradition, which has gone on for 8 years!

Mayor Hillrey Adams met with students and staff members at Mountain Home High School on Wednesday to declare October 2023 to be Arkansas College Application Month.
He delivered a signed proclamation noting that the college application process is often a barrier to students pursuing postsecondary education. The proclamation also recognized that Mountain Home High School has placed a focus on assisting students and families with the application process as a part of the American College Application Campaign, which takes place each October.

An area outage (power and phones) is impacting some of our school buildings. Our phones are not currently operational. We do not have a timeline on the restoration of service, but we wanted our families to know what we know.

Bus 52 is running at least 30 minutes late. We had a mechanical issue and had to send out a new bus.

This week's Bomber Update is a homecoming preview featuring some awesome student council officers: https://youtu.be/Z_7RHOTqfrY

Bus 43 is running about 15 minutes behind.
