Congratulations to Betsy Barr & Ella Morris! 🎶 Both of these Pinkston Middle School 7th graders qualified for the Region 6 Junior High All-Region Band. They competed with over 600 7th, 8th & 9th graders from 25 other schools in Northwest Arkansas. Students had blind auditions after learning 5 etudes, 14 scales and sightreading at Harrison Middle School on December 14th. These girls will attend the All-Region Clinic in Bentonville on January 24-25, 2025. Ella plays the French horn and Betsy plays the clarinet. This is a huge accomplishment for young musicians!

Thanks to First Security Bank for this month's MHJH Leadership Award! Bentley Lemons was this month's recipient, and here's a brief summary of why she was nominated! Good afternoon! Please see the photo below for our First Security Bank Leadership award winner for November. Here is a small summary of why she was nominated! Bentley Lemons is a leader in and out of the classroom. She is involved in many extracurricular activities including dance, student council, flight crew, and many others. She is responsible, goal oriented, organized, and works well with her peers. One specific event I noticed her leadership skills was during Homecoming week. She led both Student Council and Flight Crew in decorating the Freshman Class Float including making decisions about theme and decor and helping organize who would do what on each night of decorating. Bentley is an exceptional student and works hard at everything does.

On Saturday, November 23, the Hackler Intermediate School archery team competed in Omaha. They placed 3rd out of 6 teams AND had the most tens out of all elementary schools! This impacts many of our students, and they have put a tremendous amount of work into this sport! Mr. Ethridge and Trenton Tardiff help lead this team with a volunteer coach, Mr. Andrews. This weekend they compete in Valley Springs. Way to go!

From Mr. Hargett, MHHS Art Teacher: I just wanted to share what our Art students did yesterday at First Security Bank. Madison Jordan, Jaden Barnes, Alma Rowden, Gracie Cakora, Elizabeth Noyoyla, Izac Biting, and Roanin Pierson. The conditions were rough with high winds and wind chill. The kids were very uncomfortable. They took breaks in their cars and went into the bank occasionally to warm up. They stayed with it and had great attitudes! We started at 8 and finished about 2:45. First Security was very good to us, providing pizza for lunch and anything else we needed. Mrs. Wehmeyer has already asked us to come back next year and wants us to do the other bank as well. I am so proud of these kids!
